Compared with ordinary material level gauge, the advantages of radar level transmitter in application technology of the following fields are as follows:
1. It can be used in the complex working conditions such as asphalt, and acid-base tanks which with high temperature, high pressure, corrosive or with stirring, especially in Chemical and petroleum industry.
2. It can be used in the working conditions of high temperature. The temperature of the installation location is very high due to the heat radiation, so commonly high temperature resistant stainless steel horn antenna with curved extension tube is adopted, the electronic components are far away from the heat radiation area. But the propagation and reflection of radar are not affected by temperature. So the radar level transmitter can be used in level measurement for blast furnace burden, liquid steel and molten aluminum,etc.
Moreover, special radar level transmitter should be used for measurement of solid material, because it is different from the ordinary radar level transmitter. For powdery material level measurement, the guided wave radar level transmitter should be adopted. Usually it can be seen in the ash silos of power plant, the homogenization silos and finished products warehouse of cement plant.
