What aspects should be paid attention to when selecting a radar level meter?

Radar level meter is a common product type of level meter, which has the advantages of accurate measurement, stable performance, high reliability, easy maintenance, and wide application range. It can be installed in various metal and non-metal containers or tanks to measure the level of liquid, slurry and granular materials. So, under what special conditions will it be installed?

1. Selection under the condition of stirring

     In a tank with stirring, guided wave radar level gauges are generally not used. The strength of stirring can easily bring the cable of the guided wave radar into the stirring device, or bend the rod of the guided wave radar. So you can only choose non-contact measurement of FM or high-frequency horn-mouth radar level meter to measure.


2. Selection under vacuum conditions
       Under vacuum conditions, the boiling point of liquids will be much lower than under standard atmospheric pressure. Many liquids start to boil at 30-40°C. Especially in the reaction kettle and evaporation kettle, when there is no vacuum, the liquid is very calm. When the vacuum is pumped, the liquid level fluctuates greatly, all of which are boiling bubbles and fine water droplets. In this case, only non-contact radar can be used, and then certain changes must be made on site to make it work normally.


3. the selection of the medium containing a lot of foam, water vapor, and dust
       Generally, there are various types of media, most of which are liquids. We generally recommend choosing a frequency modulated radar level meter for measurement. Its working frequency has electromagnetic characteristics in the terahertz band, such as: having the ability to penetrate non-polar materials. In an industrial environment with strong adhesion and strong dust, it has ideal measurement stability and environmental anti-interference ability; for strong dust conditions, we can install a universal joint to adjust the measurement direction, with a purge function, in order to prevent measurement errors .


4. Selection of working temperature above 200℃
       The general working temperature of radar level gauge is -40℃-150℃. However, under high temperature conditions, we must choose a high temperature radar level gauge to ensure that the radar level gauge can work normally.
       Radar level gauges have a wide range of applications, spanning electric power, medicine, steel, metallurgy, cement, petrochemicals, papermaking, food and other fields. However, the choice of radar level gauges is also very important for different applications.

What matters should be paid attention to when using radar level gauge?
1. If the radar level gauge is used outdoors, it is recommended to install an awning or a protective box for the instrument to avoid long-term exposure to the sun and cause the LCD screen to age.


2. If the radar level gauge is used in the place where the radar level gauge has corrosive gas or liquid, or is used at sea or sea, the anticorrosive radar level gauge should be used. In addition, if the instrument is used in an environment with corrosive gas, to avoid corrosion of the instrument, an anti-corrosion jacket should be installed.


3. If the radar level gauge is used in a particularly hot and cold place, because the ambient temperature may exceed the working requirements of the instrument, in order to ensure the normal operation of the instrument, it is recommended to install a thermostatic device around the instrument.


4. If the radar level gauge is used in areas with frequent thunder and lightning, even though the gauge itself has lightning protection devices, for safety reasons, it is recommended to install a special lightning protection device at the inlet and outlet ends of the radar level gauge.


5. When using radar level timing, attention should be paid to installing protective tubes for wires and cables to prevent water accumulation and rodent bites.


6. When using radar level timing, care should be taken to keep the radar level gauge perpendicular to the measured liquid level, and to ensure that there are no other obstacles within the cone of the radar wave emission.


7. If the radar level gauge is used in an environment where there is dust, steam, fog, foam or floating objects on the liquid surface, and the liquid is stirred or waved, please pay attention to the special selection of the radar level gauge!
